Description: For the overall growth of a student, parents’, teachers’ and students’ strong bond is needed to help him reach the zenith. It is essential in providing a holistic approach to learning, growth and development. With this aim in mind, on 11th May, 2024 a parents teachers meet was organized under the guidance of Miss Kumud Henry the co-coordinator of the High School. This meet was specially held for those students who either had some discipline and attendance issues or were weak in academics. The programme began with a prayer song seeking the Lord’s blessings upon us. Fr. Principal, Fr. K.P. Domichan, S.J. welcomed the parents and expressed his concern regarding the agenda of the PTM. He put forth some measures how a student can overcome the hindrances of his life. Dr. Tavishi Singh, the class teacher of XA highlighted on the importance of healthy food habits, physical and mental growth and the duration a student needs to spend in his studies. Certain areas like attendance excess use of mobile phone by the students and the need of co-operation of the parents with the teachers were taken up by Dr. Anjana Gupta, class teacher of X B. She pointed out the effect and the loss faced by those students who are too much irregular at school. She even emphasized on the point that parents must have a control over their children on the latter’s use of mobile phone. It’s even a need that parents co-operate with the teachers in helping the students to fight with their weaknesses. Mr. Ashok Kumar, class teacher of X-C informed the parents on the importance of the project work given to them as an assignment by the Council. He even pointed out that projects are given well ahead of time and are expected to be completed before the due date. The last areas of concern of the day were taken up by Mrs. Madhumita Sen Gupta, Class teacher XD. She stressed on the importance of self study and in doing one’s homework daily. She even emphasized on the fact that students taking extra help from outside in mostly all the subjects, is adding up their dependency on others. Furthermore it is one of the major reasons of theirs, for not concentrating in class room study. Another careless habit they have got is of not bringing their school diaries everyday and noting down, the homework or any other information given. Finally the time for open – session came. The parents asked questions related to academics and disciplinary issues. All their queries and doubts were answered by Fr. Principal. The meeting ended with a positive note - A vote of thanks was proposed by Fr. Vice Principal, Fr. Junas Kujur, S.J., followed by the National Anthem.
