Description: Declamation (from the Latin declamation) is an artistic form of public speaking. It is a dramatic oration designed to express through articulation, emphasis and gesture the full sense of the text being conveyed. The Declamation Competition for classes VIII and IX (Bihar Board and ICSE) was held on 27-08-21, the second day of the three days English literary activity. The organizing committee Mrs. Madhumita Sen Gupta and Dr.Punam Gupta along with all the English teachers successfully conducted the event. Altogether twenty students from each class VIII and IX(eight from Bihar Board and twelve from ICSE) participated in the event. The students well articulated the speeches of famous personalities with proper gesture, poise, expression bringing the originality of the speaker through their speeches. Some of the speeches orated were:-

The difficult task of judging was done by Mrs. Sucheta Roy, Dr.Rekha Singh and Mrs. Olive Ekka. It was a pleasure to see the students step into the shoes of the original speakers and deliver their speeches with proper intonation and diction in three minutes. Such literary events instill lot of confidence, mental and linguistic ability in students. It helps them become good public speakers and orators. They are the leaders of tomorrow who have to take the cudgel of the nation. The school helps them build such leadership qualities.
