Inter-class Maths Quiz Competition for classes 3 to 5 was held in the month of August this year. It was an all together a great learning experience for the students.
The competition took place in two rounds. The prelims encouraged the participation of all. Children participated very enthusiatically and faced the written test with a lot of zeal and interest to qualify for the final round. The results were quite encouraging with many students ending up being even. Teachers then put them to a tie-breaker round to get the finalists.
The final round took place on 31 August, 2024. The finalists were grouped as teams classwise. They were named after the great mathematicians of India - the Aryabhattans, the Brahmaguptans, the Bhaskarans and the Ramanujans. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of our school, Fr. K.P.Domichan, S.J. encouraged the students to develop love towards the subject and practise enough to stand apart.
In the knock-out elimination round, it was surprising to see the excitement with which the team members solved the questions projected on the screen promptly and with accuracy. The coordination among the members was remarkably obvious. The second round was named Calculation Station. That was indeed a difficult round. However, the finalist teams were quick enough to give answers confidently. The competition concluded with the proposal of vote of thanks by the Coordinator of Primary Wing, Mr. Amar Prakash. He appreciated the department of Mathematics for creating history by conducting Maths Quiz Competition for the primary students and congratulated the Head of Department, Mr. Sunil Prasad for the meticulous planning and successful execution of the competition.
