Description: On 5th July, 2023, in the Xavier Hall, Declamation and Debate Competitions were held for Std 8th and Std 9th ICSE and Bihar Board students respectively. All the English teachers of High School were assigned the duty to organize the competitions. The program started sharp at 8.30 a.m. the audience, for class 8th Declamation, was students from 7th Std and for 9th Debate, was students from 8th Std.
Renowned speeches were delivered by the students of Std 8th. Award winning speeches were ‘I am not an alone voice, I am Malala’, ‘Perseverance Instance from my life’, ‘We all are perfectly imperfect’, ‘Patiotism’, ‘We shall fight on Beaches’ and few more.
The topic for Debate for 9th Std Bihar Board was ‘Living in a joint family is better than a Nuclear family’ and for 9th ICSE was ‘Indian Cinema reflects our society’.
The judges for the day was Mr Imteyaz Ahmad, teacher at Red. Carpet, Mrs. Renu Shankar, teacher at Notre Dame Academy and Mrs. Moni Singh, teacher at St. Xavier’s High School, primary wing.
The program started with a few words of blessings and motivation by Fr. Principal, Fr. K.P. Dominic, S.J. The competition went on well. Deserving participants won the prizes. Awards were given away by Fr. Principal and Mrs. Moni Singh for Std 9th Debate and Fr. Vice-Principal and Mrs. Renu Shankar for Std 8th Declamation.
After the competition got over, Mrs. Renu Shankar and Mr. Imteyaz Ahmad expressed their views regarding the competition and the competitors.
Finally, after the declaration of the results, Fr. Vice-Principal, Fr. Junas Kujur, S.J. delivered the vote of thanks and with that the day’s program came to an end.
